Creative Kids Vouchers accepted! Express your pet's personality in a print that is quirky, cute or a reminder of a pet you used to have. Choose colours to feature their character. You will learn the basics of screen printing and how screen printed colours blend when you overlap ink layers. Email a photo or drawing of your pet (email@example.com) as early as you can with your colour and design ideas. It's important to get permission to use someone else's photo or sketch. I'll edit the photo/sketch so you can print it. Three colours in a day is possible if you have planned it out beforehand. A two colour print is easier. Small highlights can be added with paint pens. On the day, you'll cut paper stencils to print large areas of colour for the background and get to expose your pet onto a screen. You will screenprint an edition of four imprints. All materials supplied. An invoice will be emailed to you when you book. PLEASE PAY ON THE DAY OR BEFORE (cash, eftpos or bank transfer accepted). If you have a Creative Kids Voucher, please email the voucher number and your date of birth and pay only $10. Max. of four participants. If you are sick, please cancel if you think you are infectious. Refunds are only possible if you cancel at least a week beforehand. A make up class may be possible if their is a spot available at another time. What do you need to bring? Wear your printing gear. Screen printing can get messy! Studio aprons can be borrowed. - Closed-in, flat shoes are a must for safety and comfort. You will be standing most of the day. - Snacks and a drink. The workshop goes from 10 until 4 and there'll be a break for lunch. Several food shops are within 100m and Waratah Village is 500m down the road. - Eye glasses for close-up work if you need them. - Something to protect your prints when you take them home. You'll have an edition of four, A3 size imprints. ABOUT THE TUTOR Catherine Tempest has a Bachelor of Art Theory UNSW Art & Design, Sydney which included an exchange semester of drawing and printmaking at Aberystwyth University, Wales, an Advanced Diploma Visual Art majoring in printmaking and photography, Newcastle Art School, and a Cert IV in Assessment & Workplace Training.
